honeygirl branding
Diane Currier

Any new business wants a quick and easy way to communicate its personality, key message, and its product or philosophy. That is a tall order to achieve, as anyone who has gone through logo development will attest.

Honeygirl Meadery had the unique opportunity to be a school project at the Arts Institute in Durham, under the leadership of Lisa Creed, Marketing and Design Instructor, for three semesters starting in 2011.  The process is very interactive, and each semester the students developed and presented an amazing array of logo concepts. While many of them were truly inspired, there was one that we immediately connected with in a strong way.

It was the water tower shaped like a honeybee that we absolutely fell in love with. It perfectly captured our love of Durham and honeybees. Then we had the pleasure of working directly with the graduating student designer, Andi Rogers, to further develop the logo that you see today.

We are so grateful to Andi for playing such a key role in the identity of Honeygirl Meadery, and to the Arts Institute for granting us access to so many talented design students. It was a wonderful opportunity to help us find the logo that says just who we are.
