So we are now open for business! Our Grand Opening in October was truly grand, and we appreciate all of you who came out to celebrate with us. It was so wonderful to see such a great group of mead supporters and know that our approach to making simple and natural meads caught your interest. We truly love making mead and connecting with nature in this way, and it’s great to be able to share that with you all.
The Tasting Room at Honeygirl is open on Saturdays from 11am to 5pm, and we welcome you to stop in and visit us. We can best be described as an urban micro-winery. We make and bottle all the meads on site, and most of the space is devoted to the production warehouse. During the week we are busy with the running of the business in all of its aspects – making and bottling the meads, as well as promoting and marketing, legal, permits and taxes, distribution, and so much more. It’s a busy beehive around here.
We have a welcoming little Tasting Room as you enter the building, with a counter made of actual restored bee hive boxes, where you can have a tasting of the meads, purchase bottles, or just chat with us about mead, honey and honeybees. If it’s nice outside you can sit at one of the picnic tables.
You can also tour the facility with the mead maker on Saturdays at noon, 1pm and 2pm.
We are working to expand the ways we can get our meads to you, and are happy to let you know we are now available at some outstanding retail establishments where fine meads, wines and craft beers can be found. We are working in ever-larger concentric circles around our location, to get the meads out to select stores in the surrounding area.
